Coaches Corner
If you are selected to be a coach for the 2025-2026 season, please follow these next 5 steps to complete your coaching requirements. The first three steps must be completed before you can step on the ice with the kids. The fourth step must be completed before you can be on the bench for games
Step 1
Register with USA Hockey if you have not already done so. This must be done every year. Save your confirmation as it will be needed to complete the following steps. Please forward your USA Hockey number to Kim Erickson @ kimberly_knott@hotmail.com to get you entered into our USA hockey portal. Forward receipt to Treasurer for reimbursement.
Step 2
USA Hockey Background Screening - is valid for two years. Need to be USA Hockey registered before you can complete.
Forward receipt to Treasurer for reimbursement.
Step 3
SafeSport Core Training and Refresher Training is valid for 1 calendar year. You must complete SafeSport training every year.
Step 4
Age-specific modules must be completed to support the level of team you would like to coach (only needs to be completed once per age level). Forward receipt to Treasurer for reimbursement.
Step 5
Coaches Clinic (CEP) - Needs to be completed by 12/31 of the current season. Failure to complete by 12/31 will result in a “Red Line” off the Official Team Roster and will not be allowed to coach games until complete.

USA Hockey Portal (Managed by the Association’s Registrar)
All requirements above once completed are automatically uploaded from USA Hockey and MN Hockey into the USA Hockey Portal.
All Player and Coaches USA Hockey Registrations are processed and Rosters are generated from the USA Hockey Portal and forwarded to the Head Coach and Team Manager for the Team Book. Tournaments will require a copy of the approved roster prior to attending.
