Mites Registration

Welcome to our In-House Mites Program!

More info to come. Registration for our Mites will open mid-late August.

The Albert Lea Hockey Association (ALHA) is very excited to run our Mites Program again for the 2026-2027 season!

Players must be a member of USA Hockey (link to register your child https://membership.usahockey.com/). A USA hockey # is required when registering your child through our registration link.

Mites (Boys / Girls) are typically birth dates with 06/01/17and younger. We have Mites 1 (new to hockey), Mites 2 and Mites 3. The cost for all Mite levels is $100. There is no payment plan available. Full payment is due at time of registration.

Mite schedule will begin the first weekend of November. Mites typically skate Wednesday night, Saturday morning and every other Monday night. Schedules will be posted once we have more information.

In-House Mite Team Pages will be created for communications, rosters and schedules. 

Prior to Thanksgiving - the coaches of our Mites Program will select kids to be rostered on our traveling U8 boys and girls teams. If your child is selected, you will need to register them for U8 (an additional $250 traveling fee and $250 fundraising raffle book (if you sell your raffle tickets, this money will go back in your pocket!)). They have additional U8 practices, scrimmages, home and away tournaments.

Mites (Boys / Girls) that the parent / guardian think their player is ready to move up to a Squirt or U10 Girls Age Classification are welcomed to participate in Early Bird skates & Tryout process (registration process for this is located on Programs - Player Registration page).  If your player makes a Squirt or U10 team, you will be directed to register your player after tryouts.  If your player is determined not ready for Squirt / U10, your player will be sent back to the Mite level for a year of development, and you will be directed to register your player as a Mite.

1st Year Players Only - Need a copy of Birth Certificate (not the hospital record form). Please email or text a copy to Kim Erickson - 952-237-1667 - kimberly_knott@hotmail.com. This is a requirement for USA Hockey.
